These black and white porcelain earrings feature silver plated posts and ear nuts. Measuring .5” round.
This technique is patterned after a Japanese metal forming procedure called mokume gane. Alternating sheets of black and white porcelain are stacked on top of each other. This Japanese metalworking procedure which produces a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns, as well as a laminate itself. Mokume gane translates closely to “wood grain metal” or “wood eye metal” and describes the way metal takes on the appearance of natural wood grain.
