Description
These black and white button porcelain earrings feature silver plated posts and ear nuts. Measuring .5” round.
This technique is patterned after a Japanese metal forming procedure called mokume gane. Alternating sheets of black and white porcelain are stacked on top of each other and disrupted by pushing into the layers producing layered patterns, as well as a laminate itself. Mokume gane translates closely to “wood grain metal” or “wood eye metal” and describes the way metal takes on the appearance of natural wood grain. I have tried to copy this with porcelain.
